Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MyRangManch ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use our platform (the "Platform"). We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and other applicable law.
1. Information we collect
- Account details such as your name, email address, phone number, role, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile information you choose to add, including your headline, bio, category, location, languages, casting details, media (photos and videos), social links, and, for minors, legal guardian details.
- Verification documents that hirers submit for identity checks (for example an Aadhaar, passport, driving licence, or voter ID document).
- Activity data such as posts, applications, messages, connections, and reviews you create on the Platform.
- Technical data such as your session information and limited device or log data needed to keep the Platform secure.
2. How we use your data
- to create and operate your account and profile;
- to power core features such as discovery, opportunities, applications, hiring, messaging, and reviews;
- to verify hirers and keep the Platform safe and trustworthy;
- to send you service messages (such as one-time codes and notifications) and, only with your consent, marketing updates;
- to respond to your enquiries and support requests;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
3. The basis for processing
We process your data to provide the service you have signed up for, to comply with law, and, where required, on the basis of your consent (for example, marketing emails and identity verification). You can withdraw consent at any time, though some features may not work without certain data.
4. Sensitive data and ID documents
Identity documents, including Aadhaar, are treated as sensitive. They are stored in a private, access-controlled vault and are additionally encrypted at rest. They are never shown publicly and are only accessible to an authorised administrator for the sole purpose of verification. We do not store your raw Aadhaar number in our general records. Access to these documents is logged.
5. How we share data
Your public profile and posts are visible to other users of the Platform, which is the point of a professional network. Beyond that, we do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us run the Platform (such as hosting, database, email, and SMS providers), under agreements that require them to protect your data, or where required by law.
6. Service providers
We rely on reputable third parties to deliver the service, including cloud hosting and database infrastructure, transactional email and SMS delivery, and media storage. These providers process data on our behalf and only as needed to provide their service.
7. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymise it.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- correct or update inaccurate data;
- request deletion of your data and account;
- withdraw consent for optional processing such as marketing;
- raise a grievance about how your data is handled.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our Contact page.
9. Children
Accounts for performers under 18 must be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, whose details we collect for that purpose. We do not knowingly allow minors to operate accounts on their own.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport, hashed passwords, private storage for sensitive documents with encryption at rest, and role-based access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond quickly if an issue arises.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above when we do, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
12. Contact & grievances
For any privacy question or grievance, please reach us through our Contact page and we will respond within the timelines required by law.
